Initial Course Advice

l found you from the ICB website and contacted you along with other providers. I made other enquires as I like to take my time and shop around. What I liked about your company is you did not just treat me as a SALE. I was given lots of free advice and understood the career path a great deal more. I was put straight through to a very helpful tutor and I found there was no pressure to do the courses. I called back a few days later. Once I registered, my course materials came very quickly, and again I was very impressed! Everything was included, all the work was very professionally laid out. During my course, my personal tutor kept in contact and gave me continuous feedback, it always came back to me very quickly. If I contacted my tutor, she always spared me the time and was so easy to talk to, making me feel as if she was there to support me all the way through my courses. What I like about your service is, you made it clear from the start you explained everything in detail as I found ringing around and researching the bookkeeping training all very confusing! I am a person who is very cautious as my budget is small. I was not pushed into signing up to all of the courses and the tutor told me to start with the basics and that way I could decide for myself what I should do next. Nobody pestered me so I did not feel as if I was pushed into signing up straight away. After I did my research I called Clever Cloggs back and they put me through to the tutor who remembered who I was! My tutor has dealt with me from the start so I don’t have to expalin myself to a stranger everytime I call. I almost feel I am part of the family! Doing the Clever Cloggs book keeping course (computerised level 2) was the best step I have taken in my training. I previously sent for another home study bookkeeping course and found the work material poor and no tutor backup only via email resulting in me losing hope and giving up. I came across Clever Cloggs on the internet and gave them a call. The lady I spoke to was actually a tutor and not a sales person, she gave me lots of free advice and details about the home study courses they offered and put me under no pressure to sign up. From then on my confidence was back and I ordered my course. The course was the best and I enjoyed it so much I couldn’t put it down and finished it in about 5 weeks. My tutor was full of professionalisam, support and praise. The freephone number was brillant and I could speak to my very own tutor 5 days a week. Also the work material was very good and wrote in a very understandable manner including the software explanations. Each unit was posted back to me very quick after being marked and i was given detailed written feedback and then my tutor would also follow up that by contacting me by phone to check if everything was alright. The support was amazing and still is, its been a few months since doing my course and I am still able to contact my tutor with any problems or advise. I am a chef and works long hours and do loads of shift work. Clever Cloggs have gone that bit extra in my book, as I can do the work when I am on my days off and can always get a answer if I need one. I don’t call my tutor in the middle of the night! (don’t think that would be a good idea) But it really does make it easier for me as I did not think I would get the support as good as this. The work is written in a lingo I understand and I have really enjoyed doing the course so far. I want to set up my own restaurant next year and want to be in control of my own business. I used to work as a senior technical operator at the BBC specialising in vision mixing. When my children came along I found that the unpredictable and anti-social shift pattern did not lend itself to finding suitable childcare provision and so I took voluntary redundancy. I ended up feeling very vulnerable though as I knew I didn’t want to go back to my old career but I had no other skill base. I was looking for something that I could potentially do from home whilst still bringing up my children as their primary carer. After some research I decided the best option for me would be a correspondence course in bookkeeping but with so many providers out there the difficulty was who to choose. In the end Clever Cloggs made that decision simple for me. Considering the course I wanted to do involved keeping track of finance I was astounded at the number of course providers who were unable to tell me how much the course was going to cost, insisting instead on coming to my house to give me such a basic and crucial piece of information. Some computerised courses said they included Sage software as part of the package but when you read the small print it was only for a limited time period. Clever Cloggs were different. When I phoned up they were friendly and helpful, were up front about the cost of the course (which you can pay off in monthly interest free instalments) and the sage software is not only included but is yours to keep. The course is easy to follow, my tutor was both friendly and helpful and through assignments you get regular feedback as to how you are getting on. With the help of Clever Cloggs, within the space of one year I went from no knowledge of bookkeeping whatsoever to gaining distinctions in L1 L2 and 100% in my level 3 ICB exam. I started a bookkeeping course to provide me with a safety net in case I find myself physically unable to continue in my present job (dairy herdsman). I took the Diploma course as a follow-on from the level 2 which I did with a different provider. My original reason for changing was simply one of money - Clever Cloggs was much cheaper. However I am very glad that I changed : The presentation of the coursework and materials is excellent. It is clear and easy to understand with very good use of colour with quality printing and paper. My hours of work make it awkward for me to make contact by phone so the facility to provide great support by email is invaluable. Thank you for sending me my Clever Cloggs achievement certificates, I took them to my interviews last week along with ICB bookkeeping exam certificates. Having the same tutor all the way through my courses was great, things can get a little hectic for me as I have three small children. My tutor was excellent; she had lots of patience and supported me all the way. The thought of taking exams was a bit scary for me, but my tutor was so encouraging and helped me to get ready. She gave me plenty of revision tips, mocks and enough practice before I sat the exam.Clever Cloggs even found me my first customer. When I first heard about the new Money Laundering Act I felt it was a bit scary at first but I know it is good for us bookkeepers to be compliant with a governing body. It makes the profession of bookkeepers more creditable. However it can be confusing to get your head around all of the jargon. Looked at the HMRC webiste a couple of times and really gave up as I could not make sense of it all! I just wanted to say thank you so much for ringing me back the other day as I now have a better understanding of the Money Laundering Act, also what it is for and what I have to do to not break the law! I have looked after my husband’s accounts for the past two years. This prompted me to look to set up my own business as a bookkeeper. I was ok in dealing with his books on a daily basis but I felt I needed to understand bookkeeping more, if I was going to do it as a business.I decided to sign up with you because you answered all of my questions. As a mature Student based in Spain, the distance learning option was my preferred choice of study. The material from Clever Clogg’s Training was excellent and when needed, the support was always readily available. Fast Track

I have several years experience working as a self employed bookkeeper. However due to the new money laundering regulations I decided to take up the ICB - Diploma Level III. Clever Clogg’s put me through their fast tracked programme making sure I did not have to go through the basics as I already have a lot of experience. This also saved me money. Thanks for sending me my learning pack so quickly! I was impressed when I opened up my parcel to find such quality and everything you mentioned was included. I was also surprised to find you have included dividers for each section of the courses and the materials are printed all in colour!
I am sorry I gave you a hard time on the telephone last week, but need to explain I did a distance learning training course a couple of years ago, I am disabled and struggle to get to my local college so distance learning suits me. The pack from my previous provider was cheaply put together with photocopied pages and lots of typo errors. I gave up in the end because the support was also very poor.
